Business License

Everyone doing business in the City of Pinson must obtain a business license. Upon receipt of a completed license application, the Licensing Department will determine the proper license classification for each business and determine the types of taxes that each business will be required to remit to the City of Pinson. Applications can be dropped off at City Hall or by emailing license@pinsonal.gov. Once the application has been approved, you will receive a call or email with instructions on how to pay.

The city’s license year runs from January 1 through December 31 with all City of Pinson business licenses expiring on December 31 of each year – regardless of the date issued. It is the responsibility of the business to meet the renewal deadline of Jan 31st, whether a renewal notice has been received or not.

If you have any questions, you can contact the City Clerk Heather Lind at 205-680-5556 or email hlind@pinsonal.gov

**Please note that the minimum fee for business license will be increasing to $50.00 This will go into effect January 1, 2027.**
